Aug 29, 2016 | 2:00 PM

Police are busy following up on two assaults and one break and enter which happened in the last 24 hours.

A North Battleford man was arrested trying to break into a business early Monday morning.

The 35-year-old was taken into custody after RCMP responded to a complaint of someone attempting to break into a business on Railway Ave. E. at roughly 2 a.m.

The accused is in custody and was scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court today to face charges of mischief, possession of break and enter instruments and failing to comply with an undertaking.

The attempted break-in was one of roughly 50 calls to Battlefords RCMP in a 24-hour period ending at 6 a.m. this morning.

Police also responded to an assault on 20th St. in Battleford at roughly 9 p.m. on Sunday. A man was transferred to hospital with injuries to his head and face, but was later released. Officers are still investigating.

It wasn’t the only complaint of assault Sunday, as police responded to a reported assault on Panton Ave. roughly an hour before. RCMP said the suspect left and the incident happened a while before the complaint was made, but it is still under investigation.
