Burned body in car death not suspicious: RCMP

An autopsy has confirmed the death of a man whose body was found in a burned vehicle was accidental. According to a news release, a forensic pathologist conducted an autopsy Wednesday, June 22 and found no evidence of foul play.
RCMP said the man was a 31-year-old from the North Battleford area, but will not release his name because it’s not a criminal case.
Police found the man’s body after being called to a vehicle fire at 1:11 p.m. on June 17 on Highway 4 between North Battleford and Mosquito First Nation. When police and fire arrived, the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames and was extinguished. First responders found the body in the back seat of the vehicle.
According to a news release, the vehicle was a blue 2006 four-door Hyundai Electra. Police determined five people were in the vehicle before the incident. They left the car and were driven to Mosquito First Nation by two Good Samaritans.
