Local adults take to the library to relax and colour
People come to the adult colouring club at the North Battleford Public Library for many reasons: to relax, for company, or to pick up their spirits.
Participant Gwen Cave said she thoroughly enjoys colouring books and finds them relaxing, but addictive.
“I colour an hour before I go to bed and I sleep better and maybe that’s in my head, but then sometimes if I start at 10:30 I’m still colouring at midnight,” she said. “I can’t believe it; it’s addicting.”
Library reference technician Carla Lamontagne said staff started up the colouring club in January during the adult colouring book craze. Soon the club had more than 20 people each night and even added an afternoon session for people who don’t like to go out in the evenings.
