April 24, Private Refugee Sponsorship Meeting –
“The Year of Mercy invites us to do works of mercy! One work is helping our catholic refugee brothers and sisters resettle here in Prince Albert. On Sunday, April 24, at 2pm, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, in Salon Renaud, we will be holding a general information meeting to discuss how this can be done. Also, the group of 5 or more, an independent group of parishioners, will discuss their plans and explain how you can join them or help in some way. All are welcome!

Le Dimanche 24 Avril à 2pm au Salon Renaud, nous aurons une rencontre d’information générale. Aussi, le Groupe de 5 ou plus, un groupe indépendant de paroissiens, discutera de leurs plans et expliquer à la façon de vous joindre à eux ou d’aider. Tous sont bienvenue!”
 

  • April 29-May 1, Development and Peace Regional Assembly in Saskatoon – Development and Peace Regional Assembly 2016 at St. Thomas More College in Saskatoon from Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1.  Friday at 5pm, registration, supper not included. First presentation at 7pm Climate Advocacy and Action followed by social at 9pm. 
  • Saturday at 8:45am. Morning prayer and welcome, National updates and planning. Field trip to Floating Gardens in the town of Osler at 12:30pm, 3:30pm presentation by Bishop Don Bolen on Care for Creation through the lens of Treaty. At 5pm, AGM begins, supper at 5:30pm. Mass at S.T.M. at 7pm, social at 8pm. Sunday at 8:45am, morning prayer, AGM at 9am, followed by lunch.  The day ends at 12:30pm.  Registration and questions, contact Armella Sonntag at asonntag@devp.org.   • April 30, Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Laurent Shrine 6th Annual Fundraiser Supper – Everyone is welcome to join the St. Laurent Shrine’s fundraiser supper on April 30 at St. Mary High School in Prince Albert (380-14 St. West).  Cocktails are at 4:30pm, supper at 5:30pm and the cost is $25/person.  For tickets or information, please call Darlene 306-763-2873 or Sandy 306-929-5436.
  • May 1, Thanksgiving Ordination Anniversary Concert – You are cordially invited to a thanksgiving concert will be held by Fr. Roque Concepcion on the occasion of his 17th Ordination Anniversary.  It will take place on May 1 at 3:00pm at St. Joseph Parish in Prince Albert. Donations are accepted.  Proceeds will be given to the St. Joseph Refugee Sponsorship Program.
  • May 1, St. Louis Annual Parish Brunch – The brunch will be held on May 1 at the St. Louis Parish Hall (basement).  Mass will be at 10:00am.  Brunch will be served from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Our 50/50 draw will be at 1:00pm.  Tickets are adults/$12, 6-10years/$8, preschool/free.
  • May 6, Our Lady of Consolation Parish, Melfort – Youth ministry evening on Friday, May 6, from 6:30-9:30 pm. Pizza, activities, the Illusions in our World vs Our Foundation of Faith and The Year of Mercy and the “mountain of mercy”.  Fun and faith for all.
     
  • May 11-14, St. Mary High School musical “Godspell” – St Mary High School would like to invite the community to the Upstage Productions’ musical, “Godspell”.  Show times at the E.A. Rawlinson Centre are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. from May 11 to May 14.  Tickets cost $18.00 for adults (ages 19 and over) and $13.00 for students (ages 18 years and under) and are available at the E.A.   • May 15, North Battleford Holy Doors Celebration – Please mark your calendars for the Holy Doors celebration in the Battlefords being held at 5:00pm on Sunday, May 15 at Notre Dame Parish in North Battleford. Further information will be published as it is available. Everyone is invited to this special Jubilee of Mercy celebration.
     
  • May 21, St. Eugene Parish, Nipawin – “Join the Journey” retreat on Saturday, May 21 from 6:30-8:45pm.  A full day retreat with fun, faith, food, music and celebrating the Year of Mercy.
     
  • May 28, 8th Annual Altar Server Appreciation Day – Calling all volunteers.  We are looking for a number of volunteers to help in different areas. We are looking for individuals who would be interested in volunteering before and on the day of the event.  Before the event there will be three evenings of preparation on May 12, 19 and 26.  Each evening will be from 7-9pm at the Diocesan Centre at 1415 – 4th Avenue West in Prince Albert.  We are looking for individuals to help in a number of different areas during the event which will be held at Par Place, such as registration, snacks and juice, onsite set-up and clean-up, group activity station leaders.  Please contact Christine Taylor or Andrea Langlois at 306-922-4747 ext. 227 or 228 or email at catechetics@padiocese.ca or programsecretary@padiocese.ca.
     
  • June 1, Catholic Health Association of Saskatchewan (CHAS) – It’s Time to Talk… Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide.  The Scriptures teach that life is a precious God-given gift. Our society’s acceptance and potential normalizing of physician-assisted death and euthanasia are worthy of reflection. This presentation will explore the dangers these practices pose to all Canadians, providing participants with the necessary tools to engage in this discussion. Come deepen your understanding of the political situation in Canada, share your stories and questions, and learn more about how you can approach suffering with the compassion of Christ.  Presenter: Mary Deutscher, Ph.D.  The session will be held 7-9:00 pm on Wednesday, June 1 at Mont St. Joseph Home (777- 28 St East, Prince Albert).
