Referee changes among those made at annual SJHL AGM

There are no earth shattering rule changes following the annual Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League annual general meeting this past weekend in Nipawin, but there is a slight change to the playoff format and an uptick in the number of games with four officials.

North Stars add 5 to roster at SJHL bantam draft

The Battlefords North Stars drafted five new players to its organization on Friday morning at the annual Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League draft, choosing three forwards, one defenceman, and one goaltender.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League 2017 annual general meeting is set for the coming days, which means the bantam draft is quickly approaching.

North Stars hold their heads high despite exit at WCC

The Battlefords North Stars seasoon lasted 251 days, from fitness testing on the first day of training camp in August, until elimination at the hands of the Penticton Vees at the Western Canada Cup on May 6.

North Stars season comes to an end after loss to Vees

The Battlefords North Stars season is over.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League champions fell 4-0 to the Penticton Vees on Saturday afternoon at the Western Canada Cup in the third versus fourth playoff game.

Say what you want about the Chilliwack Chiefs scratching many of their top players in Thursday's 3-0 loss to the Battlefords North Stars – the fact is the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League champions played by far their best game of the tournament and really should have won by more.
