Ernest Monias and the Black Eyed Crees at Toon Town Tavern

The legendary Ernest Monias will be performing with the Black Eyed Creez for two nights at the Toon Town Tavern in Saskatoon, Sask located in the Conferation Inn.

Ernest Monias has brought a unique gift to the music world with his original sound that combines country, rock and a Native soul. He is celebrating 50 years in music and still in high demand wherever he goes.

Ernest has released 18 albums and has entertained coast to coast. He is affectionately known as the “Elvis of the North” who has performed with several legends including the late great George Jones.

Born February 14, 1949, at the age of fifteen Ernest began singing songs on his guitar and formed his first band ‘The Sons of Manitou’ while still in high school. Later he would record his biggest hits which include; If I Wanted You Girl, Stay Awhile, Forever’s a Long Time, Say You Love Me and Some Times I Feel Like Crying.

Ernest Monias has been a part of the NCI and MBC radio sound since the early 1970 to the present. He has been an inspiration to generations of other musicians by proving that a singer/songwriter from a northern reserve can achieve a dream of entering the music world and truly succeed.

He will forever be recognized as a trailblazer who has forged a musical path from the Cree lands of northern Manitoba to reach music lovers in all four directions.
