Winter Fun at PA National Park Continues

Waskesiu Snow Days – February 17-26th

Embrace winter and enjoy family-friendly activities in the park. Take advantage of free entry and explore the numerous snowshoe and ski routes. Keep your eyes open for wildlife and gaze into a night sky full of stars! As the weather cools in the evening take advantage of the indoor skating rink and stoke a fire in one of the enclosed camp kitchens – For a special winter treat, bring s’more supplies and hot chocolate!

Safe and Sustainable Enjoyment of the Forest & Create a Walking Stick
Saturday, February 25 – Noon to 3:00pm
Hawood Inn
Talk about safety in the forest and respect for Mother Earth. Participants will have the opportunity to make a walking stick.

Cross-country Ski Trail Conditions

Snowfall over the past few weeks has blanketed the park with enough snow for all maintained cross-country ski trails to be track-set. Ski trail conditions will be updated regularly on the Waskesiu Chamber of Commerce website.

New this year is a packed trail connecting Great Blue Heron Provincial Park and Prince Albert National Park. This trail is marked on the attached visitor guide and connects the two parks via the Spruce River Highlands Trail. Users of both parks are now provided with more groomed trails to enjoy throughout the winter!

A magical winter experience: Northern Lights in Prince Albert National Park

Winter in Prince Albert National Park provides a totally unique winter experience. You can experience quintessential Canadian winter experiences by day and phenomenal performances in the sky at night.

Visitor Centre winter hours:

The Prince Albert National Park Visitor Centre is open daily to answer questions you may have, provide updated information on park conditions, and issue the free discovery pass when you are in the park (passes can also be ordered online in advance of your travel).
