Come to Prince Albert National Park for live music all weekend long! August 26 to 28, 2016

For a great time come out the 2016 Waskesiu Lakeside Music Festival. With a full weekend of activities and live music, the whole family will find something to enjoy! All of Saturdays activities are FREE with paid park entry.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 26th

·         4:00pm – Street Theater: Spirits of the Park

·         7:00pm – Sunset yoga

·         7:00pm – Wolf Howl at the Main Beach

·         Friends of the Park Cabaret Fundraiser at the Terrace Gardens

 

SATURDAY AUGUST 27th

·         9:30am to 10:30am – Morning Yoga

·         10:45am to 11:00am – Kelly Taylor opens the stage

·         11:00am to 11:45am – Singing with Sylvia 

·        11:45am to 10:30pm – Live Music at the Community Grounds

o   11:45 to 12:30 – The Wolfe

o   1:00 to 2:30 – Constant Reminder

o   3:00 to 4:30 – Oral Fluentes

o   5:00 to 6:30 Rewind

o   7:00 to 8:30 The Steadies

o   9:00 to 10:30 Belle Plaine and Blake Berglund

o   Award winning comedian, Kelly Taylor will MC the event and provide his stand-up comedy between sets

SUNDAY, AUGUST 28th

Performers:

1.       Kelly Taylor is a well-known comedian from Prince Albert, SK who will be MC’ing this year’s Lakeside Music Festival. Having been awarded the Canadian College Comedian of the Year award after his tour around Canada, Kelly has since expanded into the American college scene and continues to perform in comedy clubs and at events throughout North America.

2.       The Wolfe is an all-girl group from Prince Albert, SK. This alternative rock group met in high school and after a few years of lessons and hard work, has developed a unique vibe that has built them a fan base throughout Saskatchewan.

3.       The members of Constant Reminder were all born in Melfort, SK. Cole, Seth, Rene and Ethan Constant had their first performance in 2009. They describe their genre as rock and roll, blues and country.

4.       Rewind is a Rock ‘N Roll cover band with a vast repertoire of classics spanning the 50s to the 80s. This experienced group of musicians have combined their years of previous performance experience to collaborate in this energetic and entertaining classic rock band.

5.       The Steadies performs upwards of 100 shows a year. Based in Saskatoon, they’ve shared the stage with Ziggy Marley, The Roots, and Blue Rodeo. Combining their Pop-Rock, Dub-Funk, Rock Steady and Reggae styles, they’ve dubbed their style ‘Island Rock’ and are recognized for their unique sound.

6.       Oral Fuentes was raised in Belize where he was strongly influenced by Reggae music. He moved to Saskatoon, SK in 1992 and he’s since played in the Saskatchewan Jazz Fest, Regina Folk Fest, Ness Creek Music Festival, and the Calgary International Reggae Festival. His musical style is a combination of Caribbean rhythm mixed with Punta Rock and Reggae.

7.       Belle Plaine was born and raised near Fosston, SK, where she grew up with a strong interest in music and performing. After studying jazz at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton and spending time making music in Sydney, Australia, Belle Plaine decided to return to Saskatchewan where she has found an unexpected home in Regina’s arts community. Her music has a unique soulful sound that is a combination of Jazz, Folk, and Country. 

 Teaming up on stage with Belle Plaine is Blake Berglund from Kennedy, SK. Blake’s lyrical content is edgy, witty and authentic and pairs up nicely with his Retro Country style from his farm boy roots.
