Allergy Relief – An All Season Solution
We all have them, but until we become congested, we are unaware of their existence.
With fall fast approaching, so is another round of sinus allergies. Facial pain and pressure, nasal stuffiness, loss of smell and discharge are common symptoms of sinusitis. So what are sinuses?
The sinuses are cavities in your skull. They are air pockets located inside the bones in the skull. Our Sinus cavities are lined with very hair-like projections called cilia.
The function of the cilia is to move mucus (which is naturally produced in the sinus). Sinuses are connected to the nasal passages by a single small and very narrow opening, the size of a pin hole. And here lies the problem. When you get a cold, or if you suffer from allergies, the tissues of the nasal passages known as the mucus membranes, become inflamed and swollen, leading to a blocked drainage path.
