Town of Battleford already starting budget planning

While it's only October, the Town of Battleford is already getting started on its planning work for its 2018 budget.

Mayor Ames Leslie said the town will have its first meeting later this month. It will also be working on its strategic planning.

While superhero costumes should be fine at most schools allowing students to dress up, parents should still check if costumes are permitted before sending them off on Halloween.

Before children of the Battlefords head off to school dressed as little witches and ghouls, local school boards say parents should check on what costumes are allowed, and if they are at all.

Downtown chamber members 'really upset' with city over construction timeline

After months of construction, barriers to vehicles were removed in downtown North Battleford yesterday, but some of the affected business owners are "really upset" over the length of time it took for the project to be completed.

Small business tax changes highlight Sask. Chamber visit

Discussions over changing potential business tax changes and the benefits of chamber membership were front and centre at meet-and-greet in North Battleford last night.

Flu shot campaign aimed at those most at risk

To some people the flu can be an inconvenience, but to others, it can cause major health complications or even death. And with that knowledge, the local health authority is encouring everyone, especially those most at risk of complications, to get their flu shot starting next week.
