Town of Battleford expecting delays for tax notices

Town of Battleford property owners can expect delays in receiving their tax notices, due to some hiccups with a new computer information system for reporting that the town recently installed.

Tax notices were expected to be sent to ratepayers in May, but will now be going out mid-July.

BUH Foundation receives generous anniversary donation

It was Hein Financial Group who celebrated their 50th anniversary, however the Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation received the gift.

Local businesses concerned about increase in shoplifting

Local businesses in North Battleford are putting their heads together to work out a strategy to deal with a problem of shoplifting in the area.

The issue came up at the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce meeting on June 20.

The City of North Battleford plans to put the brakes on speeders on Clements Drive.

Mayor Ryan Bater said he has received complaints from property owners who are upset by the number of vehicles traveling too fast along this residential street.

North Battleford celebrates Aboriginal Day

North Battleford celebrated Aboriginal Day with festive dance and song in downtown North Battleford on Wednesday.

C.J. Thunderspirit performed the chicken dance in full regalia with Chief Little Pine School dancers, as part of the event.
