A jam-packed courtroom in La Loche heard Judge McIvor’s decision today: The now 20-year-old shooter who killed four people and injured seven others in La Loche in January 2016 will be sentenced as an adult on March 16, 2018 in Meadow Lake.
Family, friends, and community members gathered Thursday evening in Meadow Lake to remember Kegan McCallum by participating in a candlelight vigil walk. The 17-year-old died in hospital Monday, Nov. 13 after being shot in a home on Meadow Lake’s west side.
The court case of a La Loche teen who shot 11 people in January 2016, killing four and injuring seven is now adjourned until Monday, Sept. 11, when Judge Janet McIvor will fix a final date for sentencing.
