La Loche shooter: Sentencing delayed, no final date set

The court case of a La Loche teen who shot 11 people in January 2016, killing four and injuring seven is now adjourned until Monday, Sept. 11, when Judge Janet McIvor will fix a final date for sentencing. 

Today, it was announced that former Crown prosecutor Lloyd Stang has been appointed to the bench as a judge.

Proceedings in the sentencing hearing for the shootings in La Loche were set to resume this morning, but have now been delayed as former Crown prosecutor Lloyd Stang has been appointed to the bench as a judge. Further Crown cross-examination will take place on Monday, Sept. 11.

Final arguments are on hold in the sentencing hearing for a La Loche male youth who shot 11 people in January 2016, killing four and injuring seven. This comes after two defence witness diagnosed the shooter with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
