The Battlefords Agricultural Society is getting ready once again to host the Northwest Territorial Days Exhibition and Parade in North Battleford.

The Town of Battleford will be starting a public consultation process that will look into some possible future uses for the vacant space in the historic town hall building.

More entries needed for Battleford parade to take off

The Town of Battleford's 34th annual parade is facing some challenges this year and will need more participants before the show goes on Aug. 11.

Western Development Museum launches Locomotive 1158 fundraiser

The Western Development Museum (WDM) in North Battleford is moving full steam ahead with a new fundraiser to save the museum's historic Locomotive 1158 steam-powered train.

The organizers launched the campaign at the museum Wednesday.

Town of Battleford sets mill rate

Residents of the town of Battleford will soon learn what their new property taxes will be.

Council approved the new 2017 mill rate for the year at its meeting Monday. The new rate for the town of Battleford has been set at 2.95 mills for 2017, lower than the 2016 rate of 4.15 mills.

Calling it "a wonderul opportuniity," Town of Battleford Mayor Ames Leslie said there is plans to enter into an agreement with a firm that will develop a new waste transfer station in Battleford.
