It was a good weekend on the courts for three teams within the North Battleford Crusaders Club Basketball program who competed at the U of S Jr. Huskies –Prairie Dog Classic Tournament this past weekend in Saskatoon.

The U15 Crusader Girls team went undefeated to win their pool with a 4-0 record, defeating teams from Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and Swift Current. Meanwhile, the U15 Crusader Boys won three of their four games.

“All of our teams showed great improvement both in skill development and an understanding of team play,” coach Bruce Yockey said. “Each team took big strides during the basketball season.”

The U13 Crusaders finished the Prairie Dog Classic with a 2-2 record. Head coach Shalen Fox said the team really impressed him.

“They have really come along since the beginning of the year,” Fox said. “Three of the four games were very close, and to come out of that tournament with a .500 record is pretty good.”
