Suspicious death near Onion Lake

Onion Lake RCMP are investigating the discovery of a body in a slough by Nine Mile Rd. approximately one kilometre South of the Chief Taylor Rd. on Monday afternoon.

RCMP, along with EMS personnel located an adult male submerged in a slough just off the West side of the road. RCMP said that upon arrival it was clear the individual was deceased.

The Major Crime Unit North and Forensics Identification Unit from North Battleford were called to assist.

At this point the identification of the male has been determined and Major Crimes Unit North is in the process of notifying the next of kin and trying to determine how and when, the male died and became submerged in the slough.
