The City of North Battleford will be moving ahead with more work on its capital projects underground utilities work.

Council approved a tender from North Battleford firm Unicon Pipeline Ltd. for $1,287,157, the lowest of three bids received, for its 2018 capital works projects. The approval is specifically for the underground utilities portion of the 2018 Underground Pipeline and Asphalt Replacement (UPAR) projects, as well as other capital projects with underground utilities components.

City engineer Bob Anthony indicated in his report the $1,287,157 bid is about three per cent over the city’s budgeted estimate of $1.25 million.

The city has nine projects planned for work, including the 101 Street rehabilitation from 12 to 14 Avenues, and the UPAR rehabilitation for 105 and 98 streets.
