Semi truck strikes power pole in Battleford; power out to region

Hundreds of people are without power in the town of Battleford and surrounding rural region after a semi-truck struck a power pole near the Tim Horton’s in Battleford shortly before 3 p.m

RCMP, local fire and ambulance are on the scene, but it appears there are no injuries at this time.

Crews from SaskPower were also on scene working to restore power. According to a SaskPower spokesperson, they are unsure at this stage how people have been affected, but they have received a few hundreds calls from customers in the area.

The spokesperson also said he was unsure how long power would be out for.
