Rivers West sweeps South East to advance to semis

The Rivers West badminton team closed out their round robin with a clean 9-0 sweep over Team South East to advance to the semifinals at the Saskatchewan Winter Games Friday at the NationsWest Fieldhouse in North Battleford. 

Rivers West finished second in their pool after the win with a 2-1 record. They will take on the undefeated Team Saskatoon at 1 p.m. in the semifinals.

The other semifinals matchup will feature the 3-0 Regina against the 2-1 Parkland Valley squad.

Team Lakeland finished 0-3 in the round robin and will South East for seventh place.  

Medals will be handed out after the 9 a.m. matches on Saturday.
