Battlefords residents head to the polls

Dec 11, 2017 | 11:00 AM

Battlefords residents join voters in three other federal ridings to cast their ballots in national byelections today.

Five candidates in the Battlefords-Lloydminster riding are vying to replace Conservative MP Gerry Ritz who announced his retirement from politics this past summer. The candidates include Conservative Rosemarie Falk, NDP candidate Matt Fedler, Independent Ken Finlayson, Liberal Larry Ingram, and Green Party candidate Yvonne Potter-Pihach.

There are over 47,000 registered voters in the Battlefords-Lloydminster riding, not including those who register on Election Day.

Residents can check their Voter Information Card, which they should have received in the mail, to find the location of their polling station. There are roughly 120 ballot boxes throughout the riding. Voters must bring more than one piece of identification that includes both a name and an address.
