National Child Day celebrated in the Battlefords
Rights for healthy living, healthy relationships and education are some of what the Battleford’s Children’s Charter guaranteed when it was signed in 2013. Today celebrated its implementation with a celebration at North Battleford city hall where Mayor Ryan Bater and town of Battleford’s mayor Ames Leslie signed the proclaimation for National Child Day.
“As a community, we want to develop capacity and make sure that all children in our community have a chance to lead a full and healthy life,” Bater said.
Leslie echoed Bater’s sentiments.
“We also hang the Charter inside our town hall so everybody who comes in does see that the town supports child awareness and child protection,” he said. “I think this is a great cause for our community as all children deserve to be safe.”
