Due to a 1-0 loss to Weyburn this weekend, their only game of the entire week, the Battlefords North Stars fell from third to eighth in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League top-20 rankings.

They are still the only SJHL team to crack the list, although the Melfort Mustangs (14-4-3-1) received an honourable mention.

Last week, the North Stars (12-2-1) fell from second to third, and were only behind the Thief River Falls Norskies of the Superior International Junior Hockey League and the Carleton Place Canadians of the Central Canada Hockey League.

This week, at eighth overall, Battlefords is now the fourth best team out west, behind the AJHL's Okotoks Oilers (4th, 17-2-1), the MJHL's Steinbach Pistons (5th, 16-3), and AJHL's Fort McMurray Oil Barons (7th, 18-3-1).

The Norskies (17-0) and Canadians (24-2-0-2) remain number one and two, while moving into third is Les Cobras de Terrebonne of the LHJQ, with a 19-2 record.

Battlefords' upcoming schedule picks up in a big way, as they head out for their first extended road trip of the season on Wednesday. They'll play four games on the road in five nights from Nov. 15-19, against Notre Dame, Estevan, Weyburn, and Yorkton.
