Battlefords MLA accepts Advanced Education position

Oct 31, 2017 | 2:00 PM

After over a year’s absence, Battlefords MLA Herb Cox is back in cabinet as he takes over the Advanced Education portfolio.

The position was left vacant after Regina-Northeast MLA Kevin Doherty resigned yesterday to focus on family.

“I am really looking forward to taking on this ministry,” Cox said. “I’ve got a lot of learning to do, I know that. Over the next days and weeks I will be getting up to speed on some of the issues and files within this ministry. I am looking forward to getting back with my cabinet colleagues again.”

As for what issues Cox will be tackling, the MLA said it was too early to say. He said in the next days and weeks he will be meeting with officials to figure out the next step.
