This past summer, the Battlefords North Stars hosted the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Civic Centre.

It was a huge event and lucky for them, many in the community helped out, including their neighbours; the midget AAA Stars.

On Tuesday night, ahead of the AAA Stars home opener against the Saskatoon Contacts, the Battlefords North Stars presented the midget club with a $1,000 cheque for helping at the induction ceremony this past July.

"When we looked at the induction ceremony, we looked into the community to see if there would be anybody [to help], it was a fairly big job to say the least, and we looked at trying to bring some supporters in to give us not only a hand, but to share in some of the profits that came out of the evening," North Stars new president Shandon Reichert said. "It was a pretty natural fit to look at the AAA Stars."

"Their board and their booster club supported us and it worked out for everybody in the end."

The North Stars and Saskatchewan Hockey Association split the profits from July's event.

The AAA Stars play next this coming Saturday evening at home, while the North Stars will host the Melville Millionaires on Friday night.
