Stolen vehicle recovered following crash

Aug 21, 2017 | 2:00 PM

The stolen vehicle belonging to a man who was assaulted last week was recovered by Battleford’s RCMP following a vehicle rollover and fire on Friday morning.

RCMP Cpl. James Fenrich said the incident happened around 7 a.m. when officers responded to a crash in a rural area North of North Battleford. Fenrich said a witness saw three individuals grabbing beer from the stolen 2016 Dodge Ram and fleeing the scene before police arrived.

On the day before the crash, the truck’s owner was assaulted by a group of young people when he confronted the group which was standing around his vehicle. The vehicle was stolen from Panton Ave.

The man sustained minor injuries in Thursday’s attack.
