AAA Stars 2017-18 schedule released

The AAA Battlefords Stars won’t be spending much time early in the season at home.

The Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League schedule is now up on their website, and will see the Stars play just four times at the Civic Centre in their first 14 games, from Sept. 30 to Nov. 16. Following that, nine of their next 12 games are at home, from Nov. 18 to Dec. 19.

Battlefords opens their season with ‘home’ games that are not actually at home because their first two games of the year are in Warman at the Legends Centre for the AAA showcase. They play the Notre Dame Hounds on Saturday, Sept. 30 at noon and the Notre Dame Argos on Sunday, Oct. 1 at noon.

The team will then play their home opener on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. against the Saskatoon Contacts.

January is the busiest month for the Stars, as they’ll play 10 times; four at home and six on the road.

The end of the year is also hectic, as they’ll wrap up with six games in a nine-day stretch from Feb. 10-18. Five of those six games are at home.

The 44-game schedule wraps up on Sunday, Feb. 18 at home against the Moose Jaw Generals at 1:30 p.m.

Twenty-seven of the 44 games will be played before the winter break, with 17 scheduled for the new year.
