Update: Investigation underway at house of yesterday’s standoff

North Battleford RCMP have confirmed two adults males are in custody and are being interviewed regarding yesterday’s standoff in the city.

Police are currently searching the house on 101st St. just north of 20th Ave. regarding a firearms complaint. No charges have been laid as of yet and RCMP said any charges will be determined after the search warrant at the house has been completed and interviews conducted. 

A media spokesperson said since public safety is no longer a risk, police want to do a thorough investigation of the home. They added the search warrant was obtained and executed after the two males were arrested.

Yesterday, police were involved in a standoff at the home for several hours. Battlefords RCMP along with the Emergency Response Team, Community Safety Officers and K-9 units were involved.
