Barbecue raises funds for families of Centennial Crescent fire

Jun 25, 2017 | 8:32 AM

The City of North Battleford came together as a community Saturday afternoon to support the families whose houses burned down on Centennial Crescent early this month.

Tiffany Delorme and other organizers were originally going to hold a fundraiser barbeque for the affected families at Delorme’s residence. However, the event quickly gained public attention and community support, so they decided to host it at Central Park instead.

“It was more of a thought of just a regular barbeque at my place selling a few burgers,” Delorme said. “As soon as I posted [the event], the community basically wanted to help and join in on it.”

At the time of organizing the event, Delorme said she didn’t even know the families’ names, but still wanted to make a positive impact on their lives.
