BUH Foundation receives generous anniversary donation

It was Hein Financial Group who celebrated their 50th anniversary, however the Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation received the gift.

A generous donation of $10,000 was made to the BUH Foundation by Senior Partner Brian Hein at a gala event held at the Dekker Centre in North Battleford on Thursday night.

“I think the BUH is a great institution and we are very proud to support it in any way we can,” said Brian Hein. “Being from North Battleford I know how important it is to the area to have a quality facility like the Battleford Union Hospital here with all the modern advances in technology. “

Hein Financial Group has five offices in Western Canada, including one in North Battleford, and employs 15 wealth advisors and 16 support staff. The organization also manages over $1 billion for their clients every year.

Carey Tollefson, BUH board member, said he is always amazed at just how giving a community the Battlefords and surrounding area is.

“Over and over again we see it at the BUH office,” Tollefson said.” We make a request for a piece of equipment we need or a project we are working on and the community steps up every time. It makes me proud to live in this community.”

The BUH Foundation’s goal is $380,000, which will assist the foundation to purchase new state of the art equipment for Dr. Abraham Awobem’s Ears, Nose and Throat (ENT) practice at the hospital.
