Police stop results in firearms charges

Two individuals from North Battleford and Lloydminster are facing charges for firearms-related offences, following a police vehicle-stop Saturday evening in North Battleford.  

Battlefords RCMP conducted a vehicle stop at about 6:50 p.m., in the 1300 block of 101 Street at about 6:50 p.m., on June 17.

After searching the vehicle, they found a loaded sawed-off .17 calibre rifle, a .22 calibre assault style rifle, and a small amount of prescription pills.

Following an investigation by North Battleford Provincial General Investigation Section, police have charged Kane Nicotine, 20, of North Battleford, and Deshane Bird, 19, of Lloydminster, with several firearms-related offences.
