Bandits softball season right around the corner

Softball season is nearly here for three Battlefords Bandits teams, as they will all take to the diamond this weekend in Irma, Alta., for their first games of the Prairie Softball League 2017 season.

All three teams play in the ‘B’ division.

Last year, the U-12 team won the provincial title, as well as gold medals at tournaments in Saskatoon and Moose Jaw.

This year, the U-12 team will open with three games on the Saturday and two on the Sunday, as they will take on the St. Albert Angels, Irma Tigers, Red Deer Rage 07′, Olds Pistols, and Lloydminster Liners. There are eight total teams in their division.

The U-14 team will also play five games spread over two days this weekend, with games against the Unity Panthers 03′, Irma Tigers, Red Deer Rage, Unity Panthers 04′, and Sedgewick Tigers. There are 11 total teams in the U-14 ‘B’ division.

The U-16 team will begin their weekend on Friday night with a game against Central AB Impact. They will then follow it up with two games on Saturday and two on Sunday, against the Red Deer Rage, Olds Pistols, Calahoo Erins, and Irma Tigers. There are 10 total teams in the U-16 ‘B’ division.
