What is the best kept local secret in the Battlefords? Who is the best local musician? What is the best clothing store? The best family restaurant? Best place to people watch? Starting today, residents and businesses in the Battlefords will finally have their say on these topics and hundreds more!
The 2017 Battlefords Best of the Best Awards officially launched on battlefordsNOW today, where people can vote on 250 categories to celebrate all the region has to offer. We want to recognize the area’s finest in food and drink, nightlife, entertainment, shopping, mind and body, and more. There’s plenty of great business categories such as Best Local Pizza and Best Place to Work, to more fun options such as Best Make Out Spot to the Best of the Year’s Dumbest Political Move.
“This is a great opportunity to celebrate some of the fantastic businesses, volunteers, community clubs, everyday heroes and much more right here in our region. There are so many fantastic things and people out there that don’t often get the recognition they deserve, so we are very proud to give this platform for people to vote on the best and brightest right here in the Battlefords,” said Betty Speed, sales manager at battlefordsNOW.
The nomination period started on May 8, and will be open until May 28. During this three week period, anyone (businesses, people, groups and more) can be nominated for one of all of the 250 categories. Nominate your co-worker, nominate your business, or nominate yourself! All nominations are welcome. The top three people/places/or businesses in each category will make it through to the voting period! So don’t be shy to tell your friends to help nominate your favourite artist, boss or doctor too! Social media will be vital in getting the word out to friends and family, so social media kits will also be available on our website to help you or your business encourage others to nominate and vote.
