Man shot in leg during armed assault in NB

Apr 5, 2017 | 8:26 AM

Battleford RCMP are continuing their investigation into an armed home invasion that left one man with a gunshot wound Monday night.

The incident happened on Panton Ave. in North Battleford when two men and two women forced entry into the residence and a confrontation ensued.  The 31-year-old male occupant of the residence was shot in the leg with a small-calibre firearm.  The female occupant of the residence was also assaulted. The four intruders quickly left the residence and fled in a dark coloured SUV.

None of the injuries sustained were life-threatening and it appears that both victims will make a full recovery. It remains unclear what the motive was for this incident, but Cpl. James Fenrich says RCMP do not believe this was a random attack.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is encouraged to contact the Battleford’s RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
