Two large agriculture companies merge into one

Jan 19, 2017 | 5:00 AM

Last week, Pattison Agriculture Ltd. announced the merger of JayDee AgTech and Maple Farm Equipment.

According to the company, the consolidation of the two companies into one newly combined entity, now called Pattison Agriculture, was done to meet the needs of Canadian farmers in the form of a financially-secure service provider.

“This merger is a significant milestone for our staff and management team,” Darrin Didychuk, President of Pattison Agriculture, said in a press release. “This merger creates one of the largest agriculture-focused equipment companies in Canada. We are proud that we serve such a large portion of Western Canadian agriculture.”

The merger comes at a time when farm equipment, service and technology are more important than ever because of population growth exceeding food production.

“Pattison Agriculture will serve more than 18 million acres of agricultural production, with 17 equipment dealership locations,” Didychuk said.

The new company will employ over 440 people at their 17 locations in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
