Crack cocaine was the intended target for police in the stand-off in Buffalo Narrows earlier this week.

The search warrant and raid, conducted on Jan. 16 with help from the provincial Emergency Response Team from Regina, has led to four people in custody. Various drug paraphernalia, cash, and crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $3,000 were also seized, according to detachment commander, Staff Sgt. Joanne Derwoirz.

While the investigation is ongoing, charges were laid against three adult males and one female youth.

Kut Deng, 28, was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine, possession of proceeds of property by crime, and breach of recognizance.

Abdirizak Yussuf, 25, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine and possession of proceeds of property by crime.

Also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine was 51-year-old George Carl Chartier and a female youth, who can’t be named under provisions from the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Besides trafficking, the youth was also charged with breach of recognizance.

All four are set to appear in Buffalo Narrows Provincial Court, today, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m.
