Jan 17, 2017 | 4:00 PM

The 2017 SaskTel Men’s Northern Qualifier is coming to the Battlefords where 19 teams will battle it out for the four remaining berths into February’s provincials.

North Battleford’s own Drew Heidt leads the list of those hoping to bring their A-game to the Twin Rivers Curling Club from Thursday until Sunday.

The first draw is set for Thursday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m., but Heidt will go up against Murray Sunderland of Tisdale during draw two at 7 p.m.

Heidt, who represents the lone Battlefords area team, is joined by Jesse St. John, Cole Tenetuik, and Chadd McKenzie.

There are five teams from Saskatoon, two from Prince Albert, two from Spiritwood, two from Ile a la Crosse, and one each from Lashburn, La Ronge, Tisdale, Unity, Wadena, Watrous, and Yorkton.

The final draw is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 22 at 1 p.m.

The provincials this year are in Tisdale and will run from Feb. 1-5. They are a 16-team triple knockout format.
