Thousands remain without power in New Brunswick following winter storms

Dec 2, 2016 | 6:15 AM

FREDERICTON — Thousands of people were still without power this morning following two powerful storms in New Brunswick.

NB Power says crews were working to restore electricity to about 7,700 customers due to about 240 outages.

Southern parts of the province were largely shut down Thursday as 25 centimetres of snow and strong winds clogged roads, caused outages and closed schools.

The latest system came as the power company worked to restore outages left over from another pre-winter storm that closed schools and cancelled flights in the Maritimes on Wednesday.
