Heaven’s Hellions helping out Veterans Food Bank

A Battlefords group focused on helping their community has held out a hand to the Veterans Food Bank.

On Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Battlefords Heaven’s Hellions were situated in downtown North Battleford collecting non-perishable donations and cash donations for the Calgary Veterans Food Bank, offering hot dogs and donated draw prizes in return.

The food bank, who helps veterans from all surrounding areas, is facing low stock and bare shelves.

Jason Slater, vice president of Battleford’s Heaven’s Hellions, said they’re planning another food drive closer to Christmas for the local food bank while also continuing their bottle drive for the Battlefords Humane Society’s new location.

They weren’t the only chapter members helping out either. Other Heaven’s Hellions, such as in Lloydminster, were also collecting donations for the Veteran’s Food Bank.
