Oct 26, 2016 | 2:00 PM

The Prairie North Health Region’s (PNHR) annual immunization clinics are back for another year with vaccines available starting on Monday.

Public Health Nurse and co-ordinator of this year’s flu program, Kelly Greenwald said clinics are available for everyone six months of age and older. She added, clinics are offered at a variety of locations and are free of charge.

Influenza is more serious than the common cold,” Greenwald explained. “Seniors, children, pregnant women and people with chronic health conditions or compromised immune systems are more likely to get complications from the flu. By getting the flu shot, you protect not only yourself but your family members, friends, co-workers, colleagues, and community.”

Greenwald added flu shots protect against influenza and is needed annually as the virus and its vaccine constantly changes.
