Two dead after train strikes vehicle near Unity

A 66-year-old male and a 62-year-old female were pronounced dead after a train hit a truck the two were travelling in.

RCMP responded to a call from CN police at roughly 11 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 21. The collision happened four kilometers southeast of the community of Tako.

Unity EMS, the fire department along with an RCMP traffic reconstructionist and a coroner attended the scene.

The investigation revealed the two were travelling North and were struck by the westbound train.
