UPDATE: One young offender back in custody, the second still at large

UPDATE: One of the two young offenders who escaped from the North Battleford Youth Centre was apprehended last night and appeared before court this morning. 

The youth cannot be named due to a mandatory publication ban under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

He is facing charges of escaping legal custody and possession of a weapon.

To assist with the search, the province obtained a court order to name the two inmates. 

Sundance Stacey Mentuck remains at large.

While outside exercising, two young offenders escaped custody.

North Battleford RCMP attended the North Battleford Youth Centre at approximately 6:30 p.m.on Friday, Sept. 9

A court order was recently obtained and the names and some identifying information is now released. 

Sundance Stacey Mentuck is described as having brown hair and brown eyes, 5’11” with a slight build and 150 lbs.

The two are considered dangerous and should not be approached.

Anyone with information should contact the RCMP, local police service or 911 immediately.
