Stolen ATM and truck recovered after bank heist

Aug 29, 2016 | 11:33 AM

Prince Albert RCMP have recovered the ATM which was stolen from the Affinity Credit Union in St. Louis, Sunday.

The ATM was found in the bush not far from the town of Hagen, roughly 17 km east of St. Louis.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

Police have also recovered one of the trucks involved, a white Dodge Ram pick-up truck used in the heist. The truck was stolen from the Hoey area. It was found by a farmer near Hagen as well, but at a separate location from that of the ATM.

Wakaw RCMP found a stolen Ford F 150 from the Blaine Lake area near Bellevue. The truck was located in a swampy area and recovery is pending.

The Prince Albert Forensic Identification Section is now examining the ATM and several items seized at both the scene of the theft and from the stolen vehicles.

No arrests have been made at this point.

Witnesses told paNOW on Sunday they had seen three men involved in the heist. The ATM machine was pulled out of the bank by the Dodge truck using a tow rope.

The truck then proceeded to drag the ATM down the street towards Highway 25.
