A report of calves on the loose was among several calls police responded to Tuesday.

RCMP attended to a call which reported five calves running in a ditch near Delmas at roughly noon Tuesday, Aug. 23, according to an RCMP release. Police did not say how the issue was resolved, but said there were no injuries or collisions involving the animals.

That call was one of 49 calls for service to the Battlefords RCMP in a 24-hour period ending at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24.

Police also responded to two men stealing recyclables from a business near Carlton Trail Tuesday morning. Both were arrested and charged with theft.
