La Loche Community School holds graduation five months after tragic shooting

Jun 27, 2016 | 7:00 PM

Five months and five days after the tragic La Loche shootings which saw four killed and seven others injured, students, teachers, parents and community members gathered for high school graduation today.

Dressed to the nines and full of eagerness to start the next chapter in their lives, Grade 12 students from the La Loche Community School were ready to graduate.

Hundreds of students, parents, and community members flooded the school’s Dene building for the special day with the entire RCMP detachment in attendance.

Security barred the media from entering the school grounds. Off grounds, students, parents and staff refused to comment on the special day other than to say it’s an amazing day for the community.
