A Battleford man was charged with several offences in Saskatoon after allegedly evading police.

The 43-year-old was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evading police, driving while disqualified and theft under $5,000 yesterday morning, May 30.

According to a Saskatoon Police news release, an officer noticed a driver yelling at a female pedestrian at 20th St. and Ave. G S. in Saskatoon at roughly 2:30 a.m. The officer then discovered the truck was registered to Mark Tomanek, who was prohibited from driving anywhere in Canada.

Police said when the officer attempted to pursue, the suspect fled by speeding in the wrong direction down 22nd St. A few minutes later the officer located the abandoned truck and a police dog allegedly found Tomanek nearby. He was arrested and treated for minor wounds from dog bites.
