Local art shines at auction

Mar 13, 2016 | 8:09 AM

Art enthusiasts filled the Chapel Gallery in North Battleford Friday March. 11 for the 27th Annual Art Auction and Dinner, presented by the Lions Club. The dinner and silent auction featured locally donated art work.

“This year’s profits are going towards the local branch of the mental health association,” Joyce Ruzesky of the Lions Club said. “Money from the silent auction is going towards Creative Kids.”

The Creative Kids program is Saskatchewan-wide and provides under-privileged youth the ability to participate in arts programs.

All of the items in the silent auction were donated. Ruzesky said people who donated have the option to receive 50 per cent of the sales if they would like. Items in the auction ranged from quilts, paintings, photographs and sculptures.
