It looks like Saskatchewan’s flagging economy is the top issue for voters in the coming provincial election.

Insightrix Research Inc. conducted an online poll between Feb. 9 and 11 asking people what they believe is the biggest issue that should be discussed during the election. A little over half, 54 per cent, of people polled replied with the economy – that includes answers like employment, the oil and gas downturn, and taxes.

The second biggest issue on voters’ minds was social issues, with 34 per cent of respondents choosing it. Social issues includes things like healthcare, education, poverty, and refugees.

Other issues mentioned by those polled were the SaskParty’s performance (14 per cent) and infrastructure (six per cent).
