Sask. leaders discuss lessons learned in northern wildfires
Northern communities that were affected by forest fires this past summer are still identifying ways to improve on their response and efforts to help mitigate damage.
Paying for the disaster is one of the reasons the government of Saskatchewan is going into deficit.
Lessons learned from the incident were discussed at the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA) convention.
One issue that came up at the convention is having better protocol surrounding evacuations.
