COVID vaccine clinics taking place in Battlefords this week

Oct 3, 2022 | 11:31 AM

Two walk-in COVID vaccine clinics and a by appointment pediatric clinic are being held this week in the Battlefords. The clinics come after the province expanded eligibility for the booster shots, to include the Moderna bivalent booster to all Saskatchewan residents 18 years and older.

Two walk-in clinics are taking place at the Frontier Centre in North Battleford. The first is today and runs until 4 p.m. Moderna bivalent, Pfizer 5+, and Johnson and Johnson doses are available.

The second clinic is Friday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The same vaccines as the Monday clinic are available, while supplies last.

There is a by appointment only clinic for pediatric patients on Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pediatric appointments can be booked online.

Health officials recommend all eligible residents get the Moderna bivalent booster at least four months after their last dose. If people had COVID, they can still get the Moderna bivalent booster once they have recovered. Waiting three months after is recommended for the best immune response.

Residents can also book appointments at other clinics and arrange a booster through pharmacies.
