North Battleford hosting hazardous waste drop-off today

North Battleford residents can drop off their household hazardous waste today between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

North Battleford holds two hazardous waste drop-off days every year. Today is the second and last drop-off day for 2022.

On their website, the city says improper disposal of household hazardous waste can cause serious threats to health, and harm the environment. Hazardous waste should not be poured down drains and sewers or disposed of in regular trash.

People can drop off a range of acceptable products, including common household cleaners such as adhesives, aerosols, automotive cleaners, fuels, mercury, oxidizers, poisons, and solvents.

Hazardous waste can be dropped off until 4:00 p.m. today (October 1) at the North Battleford Public Works Shop – 11112-6th Avenue. Today’s event is only open to residents of North Battleford. No commercial loads will be accepted, and all hazardous waste should be clearly labelled.
