Fatal collision under investigation in North Battleford
Battlefords RCMP are continuing to investigate a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred Sunday afternoon in North Battleford.
The incident, where an eastbound semi and a westbound van collided head on, took place just west of the intersection between Battleford Road and Highway 16 on the south side of the city. A male in his sixties, the lone occupant of the minivan, was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the driver of the semi was not injured.
Traffic was re-routed for several hours on Sunday afternoon as members completed the scene examination, but was returned to normal by Sunday evening. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
The investigation is ongoing and updates to the current information will be provided when available.
